Every good stay needs a local, and The Old Exchange’s is a belter: a traditional stone country pub a gentle stroll up the valley road, with a real fire, home-cooked food and a bar that takes its ale very seriously indeed.
How seriously? Up to twelve handpumps in high season, pouring a constantly-rotating cast of Welsh and border beers, plus a small army of real ciders. Swansea CAMRA has named it their Pub of the Year on numerous occasions.
In summer the big beer garden opens its own outdoor bar — the “Little Briton” — and the kitchen’s Sunday roast has a devoted following. Our guests rave about it; booking a table is strongly advised.
